Community Response Unit (CRU)

The
Salvation Army Community Response Unit (CRU) is available to
respond to any fire, police or County emergency situation where
it is expected that Emergency Services personnel are going to be
on scene for more than two hours, or whenever an emergent
situation has a significant residential impact.
The
Community Response Unit is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a
week, and can provide Emergency Services personnel with:
·
Light
refreshments or expanded canteen service, depending on the
length of time on scene,
·
Briefing
facilities;
·
Respite shelter;
and
·
Bathroom
facilities.
The
Community Response Unit can also serve impacted civilians
providing refreshments and shelter where possible, as well as
preliminary access to other emergency social services as may be
required.
The
Community Response Unit is a ministry of The Salvation Army New
Hope Community Church, and is available free of charge.
