Community Services at New Hope
People
are often surprised to discover that The Salvation Army is a
Christian church, because we are better known for our varied
social services, the local Thrift Store at 162 Broadway, or the
Christmas kettles. However, the expression “Heart to God and
Hand to Man” sums up the Army’s ministry philosophy. It is
our love for God and our concern for others that motivates us to
serve our community through such ministries as:
·
Emergency
assistance with food and clothing;
·
Emergency
accommodation and transportation;
·
Transitional
Housing Unit;
·
Christmas food hampers;
·
Christmas
Toy Centre for children up to age 14;
·
Support
services and referral;
·
Summer
Camp opportunities for Children;
·
Quality
low cost clothing and household items are featured
at our Thrift Store, helping stretch your household budget.
Much
of what we are able to provide through our Community Services is
only possible through the generous support we receive from many
in our community. Thank you for helping us to help others!
